Conservation works Lot. 1: Shahre Gholghola and Lot. 2: Shahre Zohak and Kakrak, Bamyan Province.
United Nations Educational, Science and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) hereby invite qualified companies to submit sealed tenders as follows:
Lot. 1: (Conservation work at Shahre Gholghola)
- Repairing of existing rooms: The existing rooms on the top of citadel will be repaired as per site conditions. The materials such as bricks, mud and other materials will be transported from the bottom to the top of citadel by donkeys. The work will be conducted under the direct supervision of the international experts.
- Scaffolding: The scaffolding required for conservation of the monuments and rooms.
- Filling of rooms: Filling of rooms on the top of citadel with filling materials to avoid further damage to the underground historical remains.
- Repairing of monument #1: The monuments No.1 in Shahre Gholghola has to be repaired and conserved with special mortar as per specifications described in the BoQ.
- Footpath/steps: The steps and footpaths will be constructed from southeast of Shahre Gholghola to the top of citadel. The stones and mortar to be approved by international expert.
- Drainage: The drainage system starting from citadel all the way to the bottom in southeast side of Shahre Gholghola will be developed and prepared to safely divert the water outside the Shahre Ghoghola without any damage to the historical monument and entire historical site. During all work, the required materials such as stone and mortar needs transportation by donkey from the bottom of Shahre Gholghola. The work will be done under the direct supervision of international experts.
Lot 2: (Conservation work at Shahre Zohak and Kakrak)
- Repairing of existing three rooms: The existing rooms on the top of Kakrak will be repaired as per site conditions. The repairing work includes raising the wall, putting roof materials, installation of doors and windows, mud plaster, etc.
- Footpath/steps: The steps and footpaths will be constructed from bottom of the Kakrak to the top.
- Drainage: The drainage system starting from top all the way to the bottom of Kakrak will be developed and prepared to safely divert the water outside the historical site without any damage to the monument and entire historical site.
- Repairing of two towers in Zohak: The two towers in Zohak will be repaired that requires almost 13 cu.m brick masonry with special mortar.
- Footpath/steps repair: The steps and footpaths will be repaired at the end of the work. The repairing of steps requires 21 cu.m stones with required mortar.
- Boundary Wall: Repair of boundary wall requires 230 cu.m stone masonry with special mortar (clay, sand, lime and straw).
- Information Board: An information board has to be installed that describe general information about the historical site in 3D model.
- Cleaning of site: The debris and remaining materials should be properly collected and transported out of historical site by donkeys.
- Drainage: The drainage system starting from top of Zohak all the way to the bottom through already established drainage should be developed and prepared to safely divert the water outside Zohak without any damage to the historical monument and entire historical site. The materials such as stone and mortar needs transportation by donkey for all above activities from the bottom of Zohak. The work will be done under the direct supervision of international experts
