The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON), on behalf of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), invites qualified interested firms to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to participate in the upcoming solicitation for development of Integrated Climate Resilient Flood Management Strategies (ICFMS) in four cities of Lao PDR and National Urban Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EBA) Guidelines for flood risk reduction. The scope of the requirement includes providing technical advisory services to develop Integrated Climate Resilient Flood Management Strategies (ICFMS) in four cities of Lao PDR and National Urban Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EBA) Guidelines for flood risk reduction. Following are the deliverables: Task 1: Comprehensive framework and methodology for Integrated City Flood Management Strategies (ICFMS) and national EbA Guidelines developed (Inception report) Task 2: Land use plans for flood risk reduction in the four target cities developed Task 3: Integrated climate resilient flood management strategies for Paksan, Paksan, Savannakhet and Vientiane developed and endorsed Task 4. Development of National Guidelines on Urban EbA Task 5: Mainstreaming ICFMS and EbA Guidelines ICFMS will be developed for Vientiane, Paksan, Savannakhet, and Pakse cities and the urban EBA Guidelines for flood risk reduction will be developed at the national level. The five interrelated tasks and activities will be carried out in close collaboration with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE), Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT), Faculties of Engineering and Water Resources of the National University of Laos (NUOL), respective provincial governments, and Flood Risk Management Committees (FRMC). The services and deliverables will be required in English.
