Description
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) are seeking proposals from qualified vendors to establish a long term agreement (“LTA”) for the provision of training services to enable WMO and IPCC Staff to communicate more effectively with the media, on demand. WMO and IPCC experts and authors interact with the media on a regular basis. This ranges from answering questions at press conferences and other meetings to short interviews with broadcasters and more extended interviews with other media.WMO experts are frequently asked to provide comments on weather, climate and water-related issues, including rapidly developing high-impact hazards such as tropical cyclones as well as phenomena such as El Niño. Both WMO and IPCC officials and authors are expected to provide scientific context about the state of the climate and atmosphere and present the findings of reports in clear, understandable accessible language while maintaining scientific accuracy.
