The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) on behalf of the Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN) requires the services of an institution to deliver the technical assistance as approved by National Designated Entity from Suriname. The overall objective of the is to Identify the area’s most at risk of droughts and consequently, water variability and shortages, by drought risk assessment and mapping; and using this data for managing aquifers recharge (MAR) to increase water supply during periods of dry spells and drought conditions by intentionally recharge aquifers in areas with the highest risk of droughts. Some of the expected outcome, outputs and activities are; • Map Stakeholders and establish a stakeholder working group. • Assess drought risk in Suriname and generate GIS risks maps. • Design a fully integrated system that will enable Suriname to recharge its aquifer in time of drought in a sustainable, clean, and safe manner. • Benchmarking of technologies for groundwater recharge, identification of the suitable technologies in the context of Suriname, including the prioritization and selection of the suitable technology(ies) The complete details of the requirement will be provided in the tender documents that will be issued to bidders after this request for EOI is closed.
