Description
Provision of renewable energy equipment : Wall and Roof Insulation /Glass and Shutters for windows and doors for a piloted residential building in Cairo, Egypt in 2 lots as described under particulars section.
Bidders is free to bid for one or more lots, noting the below provision indicated in the ITB:
UNOPS reserves the right to cancel and/or award one or more lots based on the budget availability and priority. In case of award of 2 lots to the same bidder, UNOPS amy require additional information to confirm its operational capacity to deliver within the timeframe.
Vendors will be solely responsible for clearing legal barriers and customs for transport to Egypt.
If needed and wherever possible, vendors will be provided support clearing legal barriers and customs for transport to Egypt, by national project partner, RCREEE. All bids must be detailed and inclusive of all costs, delivery, installation, and commissioning, along with a financial breakdown.
Financial quotes should be in the format requested.

Supply only or supply and installation ??? R - Please provide the information and price for both components as described in the related forms. UNOPS will issue a contract for supply only and the selected bidder may have another agreement for the installation component. Q - Shutter slices size (4.6-5.8) cm??? Shutters by Electricity or by Remote?R - The shutter slices dimensions were not indicated. The request is for electrical shutters. Q - Do you need to submit a tax invoice?R - UNOPS, as a UN agency, is tax exempted. Invoices will be issued showing the amount and the tax component. Q - An amount is spent during by monthly the execution of the works???R - The contract with UNOPS will be for the supply only and the invoice will be issued once upon the delivery and acceptance of goods. Q - we have submitted our tender today morning before extending the submission date, is it possible to modify our tender documents ?R - Yes, you can redraw and resubmit your offer. Please remember to resubmit before the deadline.Q - Regarding the roof insulation only thermal mineral wool is mentioned in the BOQ, it is highly recomended to add moisture insulation such as Bituminous membrane to protect the roof structure from rain water. As well it is recomended to replace the thermal wool insulation with styrofoam insulation boards. Kindly advise if a modification to the exisiting BOQ shal be implemented.R - Please follow the requirements as described in the tender documents. Q - Regarding Door D1, it was mentioned that the glass to be installed is security glass, kindly advise with the required security classification of the glass.R - Please refer to the bottom of the tab - Glass thickness is min 6mm (10mm for D1, D5 and D6)

New clarification added: Q: We need a clarification about Installation. We can design and provide an installation solution,but we don't have local representatives or partners,thus,we also can't provide the information of Installation personnel.Under such circumstances, can we participate in the bidding? Whether our bid is valid or not without these informations?R: A local representative or a local partner/company representing the bidder in Egypt is required. This information is required for the installation phase which may come later on between UNEP and the awarded bidder. Q: Price required for supply only or supply and installation ?R: The tender requires the price for both. But UNOPS will award for the supply of equipment and then the cost for installation may be subject to another contract with the beneficiary partner. Q: Thermal Insulation (Mineral Wool 5cm),Protection cement (3cm plus sand) ,Cover Tiles ---- What is the height of the building to rise to the roof?R: The rise of the building is 20m to reach the roof.Q:Prices are set in dollars or Egyptian pounds ?R: You can propose your price in either currency but UN operational rate will be used for the purpose of evaluation and comparison.Q We like to make site visit, if possible.R: Yes, a site visit can be coordinated using the following information.
