The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) invites suitably qualified and registered firms to submit Expression of Interest (EOI) to participate in the upcoming competitive bidding exercise for provision of food preparation and catering services at the Baraza Restaurant (Old Cafeteria) at UNON. The concept of the restaurant is a home-style, good value mini food court, featuring Pan African cuisine. The interested entity should demonstrate experience in catering of quality, local cuisine. Experience with African cuisine is a requirement. The service provider is expected to provide wholesome, nutritionally-balanced, competitively-priced meals featuring a varied selection of authentic African cuisines suitable for a locally-based clientele. The caterer is required to ensure that a prominent African theme is reflected in the décor, uniforms, background, type of service, music and lay out of the facility. The Baraza Restaurant is meant to be a no-frills, simply delicious restaurant with hearty portions. The contract is envisaged for an initial three years with options to extend for two one-year periods for a possible total of five years (3+1+1). Subsequent to the closing date of this EOI, UNON anticipates to issue a formal solicitation document to potential companies who have expressed interest to provide the goods and services in accordance with the requirements that will be fully specified in the solicitation document.
