Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Best Practices at Local Government Level in the Philippines
This Contract aims to develop a compendium of good practices and practical guidance that Local Government Units (LGUs) in the Philippines can use to implement Energy Efficiency (EE) and small Renewable Energy (RE) initiatives. The compendium will focus on small RE to power LGU's energy consumption and EE on LGU's owned infrastructure. The recommendations will complement (and not replace or duplicate) existing policies and regulations. The development of the compendium will be undertaken in coordination with the DOE EUMB (Energy Utilization Management Bureau) and REMB (Renewable Energy Management Bureau).
The tender contains sustainability considerations for preventing or minimizing damage associated with climate change.
Examples:
Energy efficiency, greenhouse gas reporting and emission offsetting.
The tender contains sustainability considerations for the prevention of polluting emissions to air, solid waste to land and discharges to water.
Examples:
EMS, waste management and wastewater management.
The tender contains sustainability considerations related to the protection of the environment, biodiversity and restoration of natural habitats.
Examples:
Sustainable/ organic agriculture, fishing or forestry.
The tender contains sustainability considerations promoting the sustainable use of resources.
Examples:
Energy-saving measures, recycling, take-back programmes and responsible end-of-life management
