The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON), on behalf of Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN), United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) invites qualified interested firms to submit Expression of Interest (EOI) to participate in the upcoming solicitation for provision of technical assistance implementation of the Technical Assistance on "Technical and economic feasibility of solar units and water storage on public buildings in Dominica." The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) on behalf of the Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN) requires the services of an institution to deliver the technical assistance as approved by National Designated Entity from Dominica. The overall objective of the Technical Assistance is to increase climate resilience in Dominica and reduce greenhouse gas emissions from fossil fuel dependence, by assessing the viability of installing solar units and water storage units in public buildings in Dominica. The present technical assistance has been designed to provide information and decision-making tools for the case of implementing solar generation and water capture and storage systems in public buildings. The findings and results of this technical assistance could be later replicated by other energy and water consumers Some of the expected outcome, outputs and activities are; • Development of a detailed work plan and related communication documents • Identify relevant stakeholders for the project involved in the management of public buildings • Identification and analysis of water capture/storage units for buildings present in Dominica • Analysis of current electricity and water consumption patterns in public buildings, and selection of appropriate climate technical options • Identification of climate technology solutions • Financial feasibility analysis and modelling scenarios of electricity generation and water capture/storage, costs, and savings • Analysis of impacts on climate change mitigation goals in the energy sector, public buildings resilience, and other co-benefits of the project • Revision and analysis of the current technical, policy and regulatory, organization capacity, and financial barriers • Capacity building and dissemination of results The complete details of the requirement will be provided in the tender documents that will be issued to bidders after this request for EOI is closed.
