The United Nations is seeking expressions of interest for the provision of Heavy Engineering Equipment (HEE) and support vehicles, on a rental basis, to conduct HEE operator training in Nairobi, Kenya under the UN's Triangular Partnership Programme for enhancing the enabling capabilities of Troop Contributing Countries. The equipment to be rented are the following: 1. Crawler/Tracked Bulldozer. • Quantity required - Maximum 4 Units • General purpose medium size, tracked/crawler bulldozer for general use in construction and engineering projects, enclosed cabin with overhead protection ROPS or FOPS. • Operating weight: 18000KG - 23000KG • Age - up to six (6) years (from date of manufacture) and not more than 10,000 hours on the odometer 2. Wheeled/Bucket Loader. • Quantity required - maximum 4 Units • Multi-purpose all-wheel-drive loader for general use in construction and engineering projects, enclosed cabin with overhead protection ROPS or FOPS. • Operating weight:17500KG - 22500KG • Age - up to six (6) years (from date of manufacture) and not more than 10,000 hours on the odometer. 3. Self-Propelled Vibratory Roller/Soil Compactor • Quantity required - maximum 2 Units • General purpose vibratory soil compactor for general use in construction and engineering projects, single drum with rubber tyres at rear, cabin with overhead protection ROPS or FOPS. • Operating weight:10,000KG - 15,000 KG • Age - up to six (6) years (from date of manufacture) and not more than 10,000 hours on the odometer 4. Hydraulic Excavator • Quantity required - maximum 1 Unit • General purpose tracked hydraulic excavator for use in construction and engineering projects, enclosed cabin with overhead protection ROPS or FOPS. • Operating weight: 18000KG - 24500KG (with options with/without attachments) • Age - up to six (6) years (from date of manufacture) and not more than 10000 hours on the odometer 5. Motor Grader • Quantity required - maximum 4 Units • Multipurpose motor grader for general use in road construction with enclosed cabin and overhead protection ROPS or FOPS. • Operating weight (without ripper): 13000KG - 18500KG • Age - up to six (6) years (from date of manufacture) and not more than 10,000 hours on the odometer 6. Dump Truck • Quantity required - maximum 2 Units • Standard non-articulated dump truck intended for service in the harshest of environments, capable of carrying loads of soil, sand, etc. • Axle: 6x4 or 6x6 configuration • Bucket Size/Capacity: 10-12 cubic meters • Age - up to six (6) years (from date of manufacture) 7. Truck Tractor and Semi-Trailer Lowbed • Quantity required - maximum 1 Unit • General Purpose truck-tractor designed primarily for drawing semi-trailers and trailers (to be provided together with the semi-trailer lowbed). Lowbed should have outriggers and standing legs. • Age - up to six (6) years (from date of manufacture) For all equipment, the successful bidder(s) will be required to provide one (1) trained mechanic per equipment (a one-off scheme) type to provide orientation to the UN/ training team(s). The rental is envisaged for an initial two years with options to extend for two one-year periods for a possible total of four years (2+1+1). It is envisaged that bidders may bid on one or more of the equipment listed above. In this regard, vendors are advised to indicate the type(s) of equipment for which they express interest. Details on the technical specifications, quantities, and support requirements shall be provided to bidders in the solicitation document.
