The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON), on behalf of Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN), United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) invites qualified interested firms to submit Expression of Interest (EOI) to participate in the upcoming solicitation for provision of technical assistance implementation of the Technical Assistance on "Technology Needs Assessment (TNA) and Technology Action Plan (TAP) for Chile´s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) implementation." United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) on behalf of the Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN) requires the services of an institution to deliver the technical assistance as approved by National Designated Entity from Chile. The overall objective of the Technical Assistance is to carry out and coordinate the assessment of technology needs within Chile in order to advance the implementation of climate technologies in the area of adaptation and mitigation in the country and to strengthen the fulfillment of the technology component of the country's NDC. The CTCN technical assistance is requested in order to carry out and coordinate the assessment of technology needs for the sectors identified by Chile in order to support the country’s climate strategies and objectives. The transfer of technology in these sectors will have an impact on reducing the population’s vulnerability and, therefore, increasing resilience to climate change, as well as orient the country towards a low-carbon development path. Some of the expected outcome, outputs and activities are; • Development of implementation planning and related communication documents • Establishment of a TNA Committee • Development and endorsement of TNA committee work plan for monitoring and oversight • Prioritization of technologies and relevant action for increased access to finance • Assessment, prioritization, and validation of key technologies for the fulfillment of Chile’s TNA • Support for the implementation of the Technology Action Plan with communications, guidance, and training. The complete details of the requirement will be provided in the tender documents that will be issued to bidders after this request for EOI is closed.
