Description
The United Nations Office at Nairobi (hereinafter referred to as UNON), on behalf of United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT) Syria Programme, seeks the interest of qualified contractors to participate in upcoming solicitation for provision of works - Fill in tunnels and removing debris in Harasta city. Background: During the military operations which took place in Harasta City, a network of underground tunnels were dug in different dimensions, and a significant part of these tunnels passes beneath residential buildings jeopardizing the stability of the affected buildings. Moreover, thousands of cubic meters of rubble in streets and public spaces hinders the return of IDPs. UN-HABITAT in Collaboration with the Harasta City Municipality is planning to implement a project aimed at eliminating threats posed to the structural safety of residential buildings and contribute into reviving target neighborhood and encourage the return trend. The scope of works includes: a) Fill in the tunnels beneath residential buildings with concrete mixture homogeneous with the surrounding ground, to protect the ground under buildings from collapsing, along with repairing any damaged household infrastructure connections in these tunnels (approx. 3,000 M3); b) Removal of debris thus contributing to the normalization of situation in the city and rendering it more appealing to a return that is safe and dignified (approx. 10,000 M3). IMPORTANT: Please note that this REOI is not an invitation for submission of tenders. Its purpose is to identify eligible vendors that would be interested to participate in the related upcoming requirement. The complete detail of the requirement will be issued to bidders after this request for EOI is closed. UNON reserves the right to change or cancel the requirement of this EOI at any time during the EOI and/or solicitation process. Submitting a reply to this REOI does not therefore automatically guarantee that your company will be considered for issuance of the solicitation documents. Only vendors who, in the UN's sole discretion, are deemed eligible and qualified, upon completion of an objective evaluation of the EOI submissions, may receive the final tender solicitation documents.
