Description

The mission of the International Trade Centre (ITC), a joint development agency of the United Nations (UN) and the World Trade Organization (WTO), is to foster inclusive and sustainable economic development in transition and developing economies and by doing so to contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG).

In the framework of the “Programme d’appui à la promotion de l’entrepreneuriat en milieu rural” (PAPEUR) funded by EU Trust Fund Bêkou for the Central African Republic, there is a need to supply specialised equipment to the Central African stakeholders in order to pave/develop arable land in the forest for agriculture activities (farmland). In the first stage, the programme aims to develop about 15 000 hectares of arable land for 60 rural productive cooperatives being put in place in three rural agriculture productive zones of Bambari, Berberati, and Ombella M’Poko.

The provision of these specialised equipment will trigger the pavement of farmland in rural communities for agriculture production, therefore raising productivity throughout the value chains of selective priority agriculture sectors and finally contribute to the socio-economic recovery of the country with jobs creation and secured income for the concern rural communities.
