RFP-2020-19: Data use consultant to Improve the use and analysis of UNAIDS HIV data

A suitable contractor will 1) amplify the impact of the HIV epidemiological estimates by combining the estimates with other data policy, survey and expenditure data to inform and improve programmes; and 2) identify other data sources to validate national HIV estimates produced using UNAIDS models in selected countries.

Responsibilities
The consultancy will be for one year and will require different activities over the course of the estimates process.
1. Support country teams to create estimates reports and generate a standard report for district-based model estimates.
2. Investigate epidemiological results from the models to identify interesting trends
3. Triangulate HIV epidemiology estimates with survey, expenditure and policy data to look for interesting trends and insights
4. Ensure the estimates are used in DHIS and in health situation rooms
5. Review estimates against other data sources, including published literature and other grey literature, to detect differences and possible errors
6. Produce slides/analyses as requested of UNAIDS estimates by different headquarter teams
