The WHO is accepting expressions of interests from scientists wishing to join a list used by the Secretary of the Expert Committee on Drug Dependence (ECDD) to support WHO’s technical work in drug dependence liability evaluation. Scientists on the list would author technical reports on the abuse and dependence liability of new psychoactive substances (NPS), controlled medicines, and other types of psychoactive substances that are reviewed by the ECDD.

To register your interest, please email the following documents to ecddsecretariat@who.int with the subject line (RFP: 2020_MHP/HPS/ECD_TRW_001)

• A cover letter, indicating your motivation for application and describing how you fulfill each of the criteria specified in “Expertise sought”
• A full curriculum vitae (CV) in English, including
  • Education background and relevant work experience
  • Publications
  • Presentations
  • Grants
  • Awards and memberships
• A completed WHO Declarations of Interest (DOI) form

Selection process

Submitted applications will be reviewed and assessed for fulfilment of the specified technical criteria. 

If you are shortlisted, telephone interviews may be scheduled between you and the WHO Secretariat at any point during the application process to explore whether you meet the specified criteria.

Due to an anticipated high volume of interest, only individuals accepted onto the list will be notified and invited to participate in relevant activities.
