The WHO is accepting expressions of interests from scientists wishing to join a list used by the Secretary of the Expert Committee on Drug Dependence (ECDD) to support WHO’s technical work in drug dependence liability evaluation. Scientists on the list would author technical reports on the abuse and dependence liability of new psychoactive substances (NPS), controlled medicines, and other types of psychoactive substances that are reviewed by the ECDD.

Selection process

Submitted applications will be reviewed and assessed for fulfilment of the specified technical criteria. 

If you are shortlisted, telephone interviews may be scheduled between you and the WHO Secretariat at any point during the application process to explore whether you meet the specified criteria.

Due to an anticipated high volume of interest, only individuals accepted onto the list will be notified and invited to participate in relevant activities.  

CVs received from this posting may be used to fill other future openings requiring similar technical specifications.
