New clarification added: Question 1: About cooler, docs say there is no dryer required. Therefore can you please indicate what is humidity percentage (after pelleting) of the pellets? We think it is better to include a dryer, especially for shrimp feed (although it is more expensive and requires more space). In this way you can add more steam in the post conditioner which only improves quality of the pellet. Answer: Final required humidity of pellet will be 13-14%. (As you know, EP requires the dryer, but our product is the pellet). Without dryer, the experts say the machines can produce this humidity of pellet. Because the air humidity is extremely low in Ouargla (project site), we don't worry about keeping the produced feed in long time. Question 2: The existing building is too low; for the machinery tower we already require 25mtr of height. So is it allowed to modify the roof construction of the building and have that part of the machinery tower raised? Answer:Basically installation of the machinery sets requires about 25m. However the existing building is 15m at the top of the building (the first plan of the machine was very small capacity). That's why we provided the drawings of the building.Prior to procurement of specification, experts already discussed on this issue. They answered that installation of machines of this capacity can be possible in this size of building, but horizontal installation should be considered. The experts suggest that (1) parallel installation of machines (2) digging the ground for elevators etc. (3) extending side of building. (However, building extending or digging will be on supplier's expense). We don't recommend the highly elevation of roof structure because of supporting weigh problem, but minor elevation of roof will be fine (without additional supporting structure). In case of igging ground, (we previously excavated the ground to make a pit, and later refilled it), couples of meters (width and depth) will not make problem if you don't excavate near supporting pole structure. Question 3: Since we also need to increase steel structure in our supply, and in view to the weight equipment, how can we be sure that the foundation is strong enough? Suppose it is responsibility of the customer. We could include in our supply a plan with applicable dead loads and leave it up to you to have it investigated with a civil contractor? Does that sound like a plan? Answer:Yes. Foundation is strong enough for any mechanical works, loads and installation. The foundation is made with strong reinforced concrete. However, if you make any additional structure or modification, the supply should charge on it. (As mentioned before, the budget to UNOPS is a kind of the turn key type; KOICA cannot provide any additional budget).
