Hiring of individual consultant for drafting of a handbook for media professionals, related to improving the gender sensivity of sports broadcasts.

Under the supervision of the Chief of Section for Media Development and

Society, the Individual Specialist shall:

Draft the handbook for media professionals, related to improving the gender sensitivity of sports broadcasts, in line with UNESCO’s Gender-Sensitive Indicators for Media and the Organization’s action in this domain. It will aim at:

a) promoting a balanced presence of women and men amongst interviews and sources in coverage of sport news and affairs and amongst commentators in media sports departments;

b) increased coverage of women's sports competitions and training, as well as;

c) a fair portrayal of women and men through the elimination of stereotypes.
