Description
1. The United Nations Procurement Division, Regional Procurement Office (UNPD/RPO), hereby invites qualified vendors to submit their Expression of Interest (EOI) to participate in an upcoming solicitation for the Provision of Catering Services (Ugandan and East African ‘dishes / cuisine’) at the Main Cafeteria of the United Nations Entebbe Support Base (UNESB), Uganda on a long-term basis. 2. The UNPD/RPO on behalf of the MONUSCO seeks to engage professional/qualified, competent, licensed and accredited service provider(s) capable to provide Catering Services (i.e. Ugandan and East African dishes/cuisine) at the Main Cafeteria with the capacity to set up, maintain, manage and operate on its own while serving its UN staff/personnel and official visitors. The UNESB offices are located right next to the Entebbe Old Airport area, Uganda. 3. The proposed term of Contract shall be for an initial one (1) year period with a further possible extension of an additional two (2) one-year periods (1+1+1) at the sole discretion of the United Nations. 4. These services shall be specifically designed to comply with the applicable international health and safety regulations governing food quality, preparation, hygiene and service taking into consideration the various ethnic and religious dietary preferences of the clients to be catered to. 5. This requirement is intended to cater to approximately 1,445 UN staff / personnel and official visitors who will have full access to these services at their own cost. Thus, all transactions will be directly between the successful vendor and the individual UN staff/personnel and or official visitors. Please note that the above strengths are only estimates for planning purposes and the UN does not guarantee any business voulume. 6. This Contract will be awarded on an all-inclusive basis. The Contractor shall be responsible for providing all the necessary personnel, supervision, equipment, transport and other equipment, material, consumables and supplies, and for making all necessary arrangements, to ensure the fulfillment of its obligations under this Contract for its entire duration. The Contractor shall be fully responsible for the sustainment of all its personnel and shall ensure that all its personnel, equipment, facilities, material and supplies are in place by the date of mobilization specified in the Contract. 7. It is the sole responsibility of the Contractor to provide, install and maintain all required equipment (i.e. cookers, ovens, etc.) needed for this catering operations, including approved décor and decoration changes. The Contractor shall be required to properly maintain the facility, and obtain any equipment deemed necessary for the storage, preparation, cooking and serving of meals and snacks for the purpose described herein. 8. The vendor/s will be expected to provide these food services during UN working days Monday to Friday from 07:30 until 18:00 hours. Please note that these days/times may be subject to change. 9. Qualifying and companies interested in providing these services are invited to submit their valid information along with the following: 9.1 Detailed company profile; 9.2 Interested vendors are requested to detail their supply chain to guarantee UN of its consistent refreshment service provision if invited to participate in the tender when issued; 9.3 Confirmation to ably provide and maintain all required catering resources (i.e. equipment & proffessional labour force); 9.4 Any additional photos/brochure/catalogue or a short video clip showing your facility; 9.5 Company’s address, contact person, active telephone numbers as well as functional e-mail contacts; 9.6 Company’s registration ID number (if already registered with UN) and UNGM registration number (www.ungm.org); and 9.7 Written confirmation of the company’s capability to provide these services to the UN. 10. Please note, this is not an invitation for submission of proposals. Its purpose is to understand the market and to identify companies that would be interested to participate in the solicitation when issued. 11. A detailed Scope of Work (SOW) with the technical requirement, staff estimates required, etc. will be provided within the UN's tender document which will be sent out to all qualified companies/vendors shortlisted for receipt of official UNPD/RPO solicitation. 12. The UNPD/RPO will examine the outcome of this request for EOI and will consider qualified companies/vendors including that have expressed their interest providing the required information as to their ability to fulfill UN’s requirement. No further details can be made available prior to the issuance of the tender as this stage is only to identify interested and qualifying vendors for this requirement. 13. The UNPD/RPO reserves the right to change or cancel the requirements at any time during the EOI and/or solicitation process. Thus, submitting a reply to this EOI does not automatically guarantee that your company will be considered for receipt of the solicitation when issued or award thereafter. The tender and any subsequent commitment to contract will be issued in accordance with UN rules and regulations. 14. Interested vendors must complete and submit page 4 (i.e. Vendor Response Form) of this EOI document indicating the EOI Number in the subject.
