1. The United Nations Procurement Division, Regional Procurement Office (UNPD/RPO), hereby invites qualified vendors to submit their Expression of Interest (EOI) to participate in an upcoming solicitation for the Provision of catering services including international cuisines served at the UN Place2B facility and the operation of a Coffee shop / snack bar at the Regional Training & Conference Centre (RTCC) situated within United Nations Entebbe Support Base (UNESB), Uganda on a long-term basis. 2. The UNPD/RPO on behalf of the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO), seeks to engage professional/qualified, competent, licensed and accredited service provider(s) capable of providing both food and drinks in the categories of a) international cuisine, and b) operate a state of the art coffee shop with the capacity to set up, maintain, manage and operate on its own while serving UN staff/personnel and official visitors situated within at the United Nations Entebbe Support Base (UNESB). The UN Entebbe, Uganda offices are located right next to the Entebbe Old Airport area, Uganda. 3. The UN reserves the right to split the award to more than one Contractor. The award(s) to the successful vendor(s) can be for all or for selected services and with respect to all locations or for selected locations, in any combination at the UN’s sole discretion. For this procurement exercise, the UN intends to award two (2) separate contracts to two (2) different successful bidders: One contract will cover the provision of international cuisine at the Place 2 B and a separate contract will cover the operation of the coffee shop at the RTCC. Consequently, the two contracts will not be awarded to the same vendor. 4. The proposed term of Contract(s) shall be for an initial one (1) year with a further possible extension of an additional two (2) one year periods (1+1+1) at the sole discretion of the UN, to extend under the same terms and conditions and at the same prices as agreed by the UN and the successful vendor(s) subject to continuation of UN mandates as determined by the UN General Assembly and the Security Council of the United Nations and the satisfactory performance of the vendor(s). 5. These services shall be specifically designed to comply with the applicable international health and safety regulations governing food quality, preparation, hygiene and service taking into consideration the various ethnic and religious dietary preferences of the clients to be catered to. 6. This requirement is intended to cater to UN staff/personnel and official visitors who will have full access to these servives at their own cost. They are approximated at 450 international staff (including UNVs and ICs), 960 National staff, 20 civilian police, 15 millitary observers and staff with 40-50 transiting personel daily. 7. With the above, all transactions will be directly between the successful vendor and UN staff/personnel/official visitors. Please note that the above strengths are only estimates for planning purposes and the UN does not guarantee any business voulume. 8. The vendor will be expected to provide these refreshment services during UN working days Monday to Friday from 07:30 until 18:00 hours. Please note that these days/times may be subject to change. 9. Qualifying and companies interested in providing these services are invited to submit their valid information along with the following: 9.1 Detailed company profile; 9.2 Interested vendors are requested to detail their supply chain to guarantee UN of its consistent refreshment service provision if invited to participate in the tender when issued; 9.3 Confirmation to ably provide and maintain all required catering resources (i.e. equipment & professional labour force); 9.4 Any additional photos/brochure/catalogue or a short video clip showing your facility; 9.5 Company’s address, contact person, active telephone numbers as well as functional e-mail contacts; 9.6 Company’s registration ID number (if already registered with UN) and UNGM registration number (www.ungm.org); and 9.7 Written confirmation of the company’s capability to provide these services to the UN. 10. Please note, this is not an invitation for submission of proposals. Its purpose is to understand the market and to identify companies that would be interested to participate in the solicitation when issued. 11. A detailed Scope of Work (SOW) with the technical requirement, staff estimates required, etc. will be provided within the UN's tender document which will be sent out to all qualified companies/vendors shortlisted for receipt of official UNPD/RPO solicitation. 12. The UNPD/RPO will examine the outcome of this request for EOI and will consider qualified companies/vendors including that have expressed their interest providing the required information as to their ability to fulfill UN’s requirement. No further details can be made available prior to the issuance of the tender as this stage is only to identify interested and qualifying vendors for this requirement. 13. The UNPD/RPO reserves the right to change or cancel the requirements at any time during the EOI and/or solicitation process. Thus, submitting a reply to this EOI does not automatically guarantee that your company will be considered for receipt of the solicitation when issued or award thereafter. The tender and any subsequent commitment to contract will be issued in accordance with UN rules and regulations. 14. Interested vendors must complete and submit page 5 (i.e. Vendor Response Form) of this EOI document indicating the EOI Number in the subject.
