New clarification added: Dear Bidders,Please note the below raised questions and our official responses in connection to the Invitation to bid, ref. ITB/2017/1333:Question (2): We note under related services reference to training for 12 persons and under A1 training to be for maximum 12 persons training to take no longer than 3 days training to be conducted with 6 students at a time. However, under Section B training you refer to 9 days consecutive training (not 3)Which is correct, what does UNOPS Somalia really require? Answer (2): A1 describes the training session for each team and B1 describes the overall training schedule required under this tender. UNOPS requires a training for 12 personnel with 6 attendants at a session for three consecutive days of each session and one final administration day, the bidder must also consider preparation day, arrival and departure days. Question (3): Having studied the technical specifications and discussed with alternative instrument manufacturer it is apparent that the specifications have been written around Thermo Scietific's Gemini instrument, which then precludes all other manufacturers instruments.There are alternative instruments (Resolve) capable of the application required by UNSOS/UNSOM Mogadishu using Raman Spectrocopy only and with greater operator safety than the Gemini instrument.We request UNSOS/UNSOM's clarification on the bias toward Thermo Scientific Gemini and their willingness to consider alternative Raman only detection for the applications requested. Answer (3):  UNOPS accepts similar products and has the following statement in the bidding documents “Single Integrated Raman and FTIR Sensor for chemical and explosives Identification. Handheld, portable unit containing both technologies such as the “Thermo Scientific Gemini” or equivalent products with similar capabilities from reputable manufacturers are acceptable” This shall form part of the official solicitation documents.
