It is anticipated that the Procurement Division of the United Nations will shortly be issuing a solicitation on the above subject. In this connection, the UN is requesting expressions of interest from qualified firms to undertake the provision of the following products:Description of the requirements: Braille printer/embosser configured with following minimum specifications or better. - Resolution 12.5 dpi to 12 dpi - Braille size: Library of congress standard spacing - 6 or 8-dot Braille - Impact adjuster for different weights of paper - Multi-copy capability of the same document - Automatic speech feedback - Standard Braille line spacing or one and one-half line spacing - Speed – 150 characters or better - Line width – 44 characters - Paper width; adjustable: 1.5” to 13.25” - Paper type: continuous tractor feed - Paper weight: must accept variable paper weights - Noise reduction enclosure - Line Voltage: 105-130 VAC - Must be Energy Star or RoHS compliant - Must include an extended post-warranty on-site coverage valid for 3-years.
