Do you need translators of Brazilian Portuguese or Portuguese of Portugal?European Portuguese.2.How many vendors will be selected for this contract?One3.Is the submission of the resumes of the translators mandatory?  Sometimes the translators whose resumes are included with the bid proposals may not be available to do the actual job. In that case a vendor is forced to use other translators. So, would you please waive the requirement for the inclusion of the resumes of the translators with the quote?Submission of resumes of translators is mandatory. They must be the ones who will complete the requested services.

Question:  Could you clarify what is The Official Certificate of Registration as Translation Service Provider?Any certificate from institutions specialised in delivering translation/interpreation works2. Question:  Could you share the ratio of Portuguese to/from English, Portuguese to/from French, and Portuguese to/from Spanish. Is the majority of work for Portuguese to/from English?The majority of the work will be for Portuguese to/from English.3. Question:  The documents also include BPA_Contract.pdf which includes Description of Services, Price List, and General Condistions of Services. Do we have to upload this document as well Or is this just for reference?This is only for reference.4. Please, clarify if there are any volume limits for information to be provided in Form C: Technical Proposal Form, Section 1: Offeror`s qualification, capacity and expertise?No limit.5. Within the estimated volume of requirements table provided, items 17 and 18 are related to transcription. Could you confirm that item 17 is for transcription of an audio file in either English or Portuguese to a document template with time codes, AND the transcription is translated to the opposite language or is it just the transcription part of the process you require? If you require the latter, the standard we complete this process for other UN clients is to charge for transcription and the subsequent translation separately.Could you confirm that item 17 is for transcription of an audio file in either English or Portuguese to a document template with time codes, AND the transcription is translated to the opposite language - YES6. With regards to item 18, could you clarify if it is sub-titling on the actual video you require or if it subtitles with time codes prior to the video stage you require?Subtitles with time codes. 7. Within the Price Schedule Form, could you advise if item IIc is indeed for voiceover and dubbing as it is not mentioned elsewhere?YES8. In the Price Schedule Form we can only indicate one price for translation for all language combinations together. But the price for translation might be different depending on the required language combination. Could you therefore please let us know if we can submit a separate price table indicating a price per language combination?We expect the price per hour to be exactly the same regardless of the language combination. A separate price table can be nonetheless submitted.

If one proposal total amount exceeds the total value mentioned on page 3 of the Terms of reference , what is the consequence for the bidder? Does the amount is the maximum and does this mentioned value takes in consideration the top volumes per words mentioned on the documents table?The maximum contract value will be USD 49,990 for all the listed services. Contracts are awarded according to the "lowest priced, most technically acceptabe offer" evaluation methodology.  2. Question: Could you please confirm that this is indeed European Portuguese?YES

New clarification added: Dear bidders,Thank you very much for your interest in this RFQ.Here are the answers to the questions raised.1. on the section II - schedule of Requirements, point 2 it is mentioned that translation will be from English into Portuguese and that key communication will be into Portuguese , so this means that all translations will be done into Portuguese?As specify in Form B of the Section III, the translation services is Portuguese to/from English, French and Spanish. 2. regarding volumes , can it be more specific on the volumes as ranges are very high, also can it be clarifies what is the ongoing basis meaning?This is our best estimated volumes to give you an idea of what can be expected. We therefore cannot be more specific at this point in time. “Ongoing basis” means that the translation of official emails will be required regularly (every month).3. can it also  be clarified what is the delivery time for the translation works as per type and volumes as display on section III , form A page 3?Estimated delivery timeline: 2 to 3 days for short documents, 5 days for medium-size documents and 2 weeks for lengthy reports.4. also can we present our quotation without presenting prices for point II . other services as mentioned on Section III Returnable bidding form, Form B Price Schedule Form.Please note that it is not an RFQ per lots. It means that the supplier should be able to provide all the listed services. If however, bidders cannot quote for “Other services”, kindly indicate “n/a”.5. can you clarify what is : "transcription with time coding"?Time-coding within a transcript helps to accurately align text with an audio file. Adding these time stamps make it easy for a person to review or listen to a select moment or conversation within an audio file.6. finally does the maximum amount mentioned on page 3 of the Terms of reference , included all work done under the scope of the RFQ, meaning total amount for translation plus interpreting and transcription and voiceover).YES7. On the section III: Returnable Bidding Forms , can you confirm if the projects to be translated into Portuguese are the ones mentioned on the table "Below is the estimated volume of requirements for informative purposes only"?YES8. Also on Section II, point 2, can you please specify if "the key communication products" are included in the above mentioned table and if so can you please let us know which they are?YES 9. Regarding the request for "II Other services a. Interpreting rate per hour (all languages above to/from Portuguese)". WIll the interpretation service be performed as on-site or telephone / video interpretation? If on-site is required is the service provider allowed to invoice reasonable travel etc. costs which is currently not stated in the price schedule form. As we understand the Form the rate per hour shall only include the proce for the service, not other possible cost that might be required to perform the serviceThe price shall only include the interpreting rate per hour. Travel cost should not be reflected in your cost proposal.
