Consultancy Services to Design, Set Up and Operate a Tableau Software Platform

The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific is seeking Expression of Interest (EOI) from interested and qualified companies wishing to be considered for the forthcoming solicitation for the provision of onsite consultancy services to to Design, Set Up and Operate a Tableau Software Platform. Companies should be an authorized Tableau partner or reseller to provide Tableau product related services. The service requirements shall include, but not be limited, to: 1.1. Infrastructure architecture and installation The vendor should be able to perform the following tasks • Provide hardware sizing for optimum performance to the production and non-production environments • Draft and implement the system architecture that supports the various data sources that includes database and non-database sources like spreadsheet • Install the tableau software for 8 core licenses • Configure and optimize multi-site setup • Install the desired database and apply related patches • Install and configure web servers and apply SSLs as desired • Implement and configure load balancing to maintain the desired concurrent users of 100 • Perform load testing for the concurrent usage of 100 users 1.2. Infrastructure health check-up The infrastructure health check-up should include the following • Review the dashboards and reports created and submit a report on the load the applications create on the system architecture • Create and provide a system health check-up on overall CPU usage on the use of various applications developed • Provide health check-up checklist and report on the multi-tiers of the tableau software • Provide health check-ups on any firewall settings implemented as part of the UN security compliance 1.3. Periodical system monitoring The vendor should provide periodical system monitoring includes the following • Review the performance of the system every month and provide a report • Recommend actions to be taken based on the system health • Identify applications that are not used frequently over a period of time and recommendations to take corrective action • Identify the security patches that should be applied on Tableau software and also on the database. Provide recommendations on the implementation of the patches • Perform tuning based on the system monitoring report 1.4. Infrastructure and software upgrades Infrastructure and software upgrades should cover the following areas • Tableau releases software periodically. The vendor should be able to propose a plan to apply the software updates in the system • The vendor should also take care of the upgrade of the applications that are already running, so that the product does get impacted due to the upgrade • Any desired infrastructure resizing should be monitored and reported • Software upgrades is not limited to Tableau. This includes upgrades to the associated database too. 1.5. Tableau basic and advanced and developer training The Tableau basic training should include the following • Connect to your data. • Edit and save a data source. • Understand Tableau terminology. • Use the Tableau interface/paradigm to effectively create powerful visualizations. • Create basic calculations including basic arithmetic calculations, custom aggregations and ratios, date math, and quick table calculations. • Build dashboards to share visualizations. • Create chart types like Cross Tabs, Pie and bar charts, Geographic maps, Dual axis and combo charts with different mark types, Heat maps, Highlight tables, Tree maps, Scatter plots 1.6. Tableau product guidance and support Provide consulting services on the following areas • Provide consulting services on tableau product support tickets to closure • Provide recommendations on multi-site content administration, permissions and product security • Provide recommendations on the visual analytic areas on the visual design and presentation. • Provide recommendations and services to migrate existing Tableau applications into the new system The services may be required for a period of one year, and shall be performed at UN ESCAP, which is located at the United Nations Building, Rajadamnern Nok Avenue, Bangkok 10200, Thailand.
