ITB/2009/010- Fabrication ,Supply, Delivery, Installation and Testing of Headrace pipe ,penstock pipe and its accessories for Haluwa Khola Mini-hydro Power Plant, Ramechhap-Nepal

UNDP Nepal, for and on behalf of Haluwa Khola Mini-hydro Working Committee (HKMHWC) and Khimti Neighbourhood Development (KiND) Project (NEP/07/009), invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for  Fabrication,Supply, Delivery, Installation and Testing of Headrace pipe and penstock pipe  and its accessories for  Haluwa Khola Mini-hydro Power Plant, Ramechhap-NEPAL.

PROJECT BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

The KiND Project is partnership project between Government of Nepal (GoN), UNDP and Himal Power Limited (HPL). It is being implemented under the framework of the Rural Energy Development Programme (REDP). The project focuses on rural electrification, community development  and institutional development of Khimti Rural Electric Cooperative (KREC).

For rural electrification, generation of 400 kW installed capacity Haluwa Khola Mini Hydro power plant at Namadi VDC of Ramechhap district is to be installed for which the detail feasibility study has already been conducted. The erection and installation of transmission and distribution network is on going in the site by HKMHWC. This invitation to bid (ITB) has been called for Fabrication,Supply, Delivery, Installation and Testing of Headrace pipe ,penstock pipe and its accessories for Haluwa Khola Mini-hydro Power Plant as per the design and specification intended by the Project.

PROJECT WORK: Generation of 400 kW power output form Haluwa Khola Mini-hydro Power Plant .

LOCATION: Bhiteri, ward no.1 and 2 of Namadi VDC, Ramechhap district, NEPAL.

SCOPE OF WORK:

The scope will cover, but not limited to the following  building/structure/system/facilities:

Fabrication,Supply, Delivery, Installation and Testing of  Headrace pipe , Penstock Pipe  and its accessories for  Haluwa Khola Mini-hydro Power Plant.

Important Note: The civil construction works related to installation of the equipments system at site will be undertaken by the Haluwa Khola Mini Hydro Working Committee.

 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

1.        The ITB is open to national and international firms with minimum of 3 years in executing similar works; able to demonstrate 2 similar projects completed under contract within last seven years.

2.        Interested firms must legally registered company in the country of origin and be of good reputed and strong financial standing. It is mandatory for all interested firm to provide copies of their audited financial statement for last three years.

3.        Eligible and interested firms or their representatives may purchase the solicitation documents on payment of Nepalese Rupees 3,000 ( non-refundable)  at the UN House Reception Desk, Pulchowk, Lalitpur from 28 May 2009  at  14:00 hrs (date of issue) to 9 June 2009  (date for the closing of collection) on week days only between 09:30 hrs and17:00 hrs. Representatives of the Bidders must be able to produce identification and a letter authorizing them to collect the RFPs and related materials.

4.        A pre-bid meeting will take place on 1500 hrs, 10 June 2009 at the UN conference Hall, UN house, Harihar Bhawan, Lalitpur , Nepal.

5.        The bidding documents must be prepared in full compliance with the Tender documents and received at the address set out below by 1700 hrs on 19 June 2009.
