The United Nations Logistics Base/United Nations Global Service Centre (GSC) in Brindisi, Italy has a requirement for the establishment of a Long Term Contract (3 + 1 + 1 years) for the Repair and replacement of Concrete Pavements and other similar surfaces at GSC, Brindisi, Italy. The total approximate surface to be serviced is 2,282 square meters; this includes paving, repairs and sidewalks. Works shall comprise new paving of roads, sidewalks and other similar areas consisting of, but not limited to, the following macro activities: o Inspection and survey of the selected area (with special regard for proper surface water management); o Submittal of required technical documents/information; o Providing a schedule of works (Gantt Chart); o Preparation and submittal of Geological Report by a licensed technician (for concrete works); o Preparation and submittal of Geotechnical Report by a licensed technician (for concrete works); o Executive design and calculations by a certified and registered engineer for reinforced concrete elements (e.g. slabs and retaining walls); o Submittal of a Safety Plan (POS) in particular identifying all materials and equipment that will be supplied and used by the Contractor; o Preparation of site (including fencing, signage, etc.) and removal of all unwanted materials as approved by the GSC Representative; o Dismantling/demolition, removal, transport and disposal of undesirable material; o Excavation, backfilling and compacting of the sub-surface; o Provision and installation of new paving or reinforced concrete elements as per best trade and engineering practices; o Resurfacing and repairing existing paved areas; o Repairing joints in existing concrete slabs; o Waterproofing building foundations; o Repairing, replacing and raising manholes as needed to match new finish levels; o Extending, modifying & burying roof leaders below sidewalk; o Cleaning of construction site. The works shall consist in providing all labor, materials, construction equipment, tools and plant, fencing, supplies, transportation, all incidental items not shown or specified, but reasonably implied or necessary for successful completion of the work. The nature of the works shall generally involve earthwork in excavation, grading, laying of granular sub base, wet mix macadam, bracing, dewatering, formwork, disposal of surplus materials, water management, backfilling around completed structures.
