Description

The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is the food-aid arm of the United Nations and the world’s largest Humanitarian Agency fighting hunger worldwide. WFP aims to reach more than 90 million people with food assistance and has a presence in 81 countries.

In emergencies, we get food to where it is needed, saving the lives of victims of war, civil conflict and natural disasters. After the cause of an emergency has passed, we use food to help communities rebuild their shattered lives.

WFP is part of the United Nations system and is 100% voluntarily funded.

Founded in 1961, WFP pursues a vision of the world in which every man, woman and child has access at all times to the food needed for an active and healthy life.

More information about WFP can be found on: www.wfp.org

WFP procures from pre-qualified suppliers only. Registration with WFP is a necessary step to become a WFP vendor. WFP vendor registrations are submitted through the United Nations Global Marketplace (UNGM). This is a portal, www.ungm.org, through which suppliers wishing to do business with the United Nations submit their registration request and specify that the application is to be for the WFP vendor roster.

The ‘New Supplier Registration’ Section is to be completed before proceeding through the steps soliciting company-specific information. Only fully completed registration forms with “Submitted” status will be reviewed.

Owing to the complex nature of WFP’s supply chain and difficult remote working environments, the organization depends on reliable and reputable suppliers.

WFP hereby seeks and invites interested and reputable Companies to be invited for competitive tender for the provision of armoured passenger vehicles and related services in support of United Nations World Food Programme Field Missions world-wide. Kindly note that your expression of interest (EOI) should be submitted electronically via e-mail to: hq.tenders@wfp.org no later than 14th July 2016 by 16:00 hrs local time Rome/Italy. By submitting your EOI you confirm that your Company meets all the required vendor eligibility criteria as listed below.

Please ensure the following reference is indicated in the subject line: HQ16NF261-EOI

IMPORTANT:

Please note that your expression of interest should be accompanied with the information related to the certifications in your Company’s possession related to the provision of goods and services in object. Thus you are kindly encouraged to provide the list of all related certifications available with names of the Establishments / Authorities which have accredited / issued such certifications.

Suppliers will be contacted on their eventual success for tender participation and might be requested for copies and other evidences of the information furnished as a part of competitive tendering process.

Tendering

E-tendering

WFP uses electronic tendering through the In-Tend platform.  Suppliers wishing to participate in WFP tenders are required to register on the In-Tend system (link to the portal will be provided in a due course).

Registration does not imply that an invitation will be extended to every tender issued by WFP

However, it does signify that a company is entered into WFP’s database of potential suppliers for a specified commodity, goods and services and will receive the relevant tenders.

Registration status is not indefinite

WFP reserves the right to delete a vendor from its database in the event of poor performance, non-response to tenders or consecutive non-competitive offers.

WFP reserves the right to post details of tender awards on www.wfp.org including details of the supplier's name and the contract value.

In accordance with UN Resolution 1267, all existing and potential WFP suppliers are reviewed against a regularly updated list of individuals, groups, undertakings and other entities associated with terrorism and will be excluded accordingly.
