UNON, on behalf of UN-HABITAT hereby invites qualified firms to submit their Expression of Interest to participate in the upcoming competitive bidding exercise for Provision of Co-Publishing Services for The World's Cities Report 2015: Urbanization and Development: Emerging Futures. Background: The Governing Council mandated UN-HABITAT to prepare on a biennial basis a State of the World’s Cities Report, synthesizing information and knowledge on the state of the world’s cities with a view to strengthening the ability of Governments, local authorities and key partners to gain access to and make use of information on urban conditions and trends and to formulate effective urban policies. In 2012, and in line with the recommendations of an external review of the flagship reports, UN-Habitat has decided to merge the two biennial reports (Global Report on Human Settlements and State of the World's Cities Report) into a single flagship report to be known as the World Cities Report. Services required from the successful contractor: The Publisher, shall at its own expense, publish, market, sell and distribute the Publication under the following printing specifications: Title: The World Cities Report 2015: Urbanization and Development: Emerging Futures 1,000 free copies to be provided to UN-HABITAT 4,000 initial copies at a 35 % discount 275mm x 216mm portrait format Stock: text - 115 gms m/f offset; cover - 250 gms art board, 1 side coated Press: text - via offset lithography in four process colors throughout; cover – 1,4 and spine printed in four process colors with mat lamination About 200-220 (provisional) printed pages, including illustrations, graphs, maps, tables and boxes in the text, as well as subject index and statistical tables Notch binding English language Referenced in the usual way for scientific and technical reports and list of notes and references added to each chapter of the Publication. UNON intends to Contract a qualified firm for the subject requirement a period of three years subject to satisfactory performance and related conditions, with a possibility of extension for two consecutive one year periods (3+1+1), for a total period not to exceed 5 years. All EOI submissions should be sent via email, citing the EOI reference number and title in the subject line. UNON reserves the right to change or cancel the requirement of this EOI at any time during the EOI and/or solicitation process. Thus, submitting a reply to this REOI does not automatically guarantee your company will be considered for receipt of the solicitation when issued. Only Vendors which in UN's sole discrition are deemed eligible and qualified upon completion of an objective evaluation of their EOI submissions may receive the final tender solicitation documents.
