Description

The secretariat to United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Convention on Environmental Impact Assessment in a Transboundary Context (Espoo Convention) seeks to identify a consultant to prepare good practice recommendations on the implementation of the Espoo Convention to nuclear energy-related activities, in accordance with the mandate by the Meeting of the Parties to the Convention (MOP).

Specifically, the Espoo Convention offers a legal framework to ensure international cooperation in assessing and managing environmental impacts of planned economic activities that are likely to have significant adverse impact on the environment across borders.  Nuclear energy - related activities imply special challenges to Parties due to e.g. the potentially wide scope of severe impacts, great public concern and national interests.

UNOG is seeking the services of a consultancy company with expertise and demonstrated experience in the field of environmental impact assessment of nuclear energy-related activities and with a good understanding of the transboundary procedures under the Espoo Convention.

UNOG will be issuing a tender shortly after the closing of this EOI requesting proposals from the qualified companies that complete their registration in the UN database as per the instructions included below. Only companies that are fully registered will be invited.
