United Nations Procurement Division (UNPD) is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from qualified companies to provide various types for modern loose furniture and accessories for the Flexible Workplace implementation at the United Nations Headquarter in New York. The United Nations Facilities Management Service (UN FMS) is managing the Flexible Workplace Implementation at the UN Headquarters (UNHQ) complex located in Manhattan, New York, USA. The implementation scope includes twenty-six (26) floors of the Secretariat Building at 1st Avenue between 42nd Street and eight (8) floors of FF Building at 304 E 45th Street. Under the Flexible Workplace project, both building, encompassing approximately 380,900 and 71,000 square feet, will be fitted with low partition open plan system furniture. The new integrated design is focused on flexibility, adaptability and mobility of staff. The furniture shall promote ergonomics, collaboration, privacy, and noise control. Various space types include 1) Floor Reception 2) Working Café 3) Break and Recreational Areas 4) Collaborative Area 5) Private Offices and 6) Team Workspace. The project is expected to be completed early 2018, the contract will be in place for a period of three (3) years, with the possibility to extend for another three (5) years based upon performance at the sole discretion of the United Nations. For the purposes of this EOI and the subsequent RFP, modern loose furniture and its accessories are considered to be 1. Seating: Furniture manufacturer that uses proven environmentally sound practices in the manufacturing and production of seating furniture. The manufacture must have a complete line of seating including task, side, stacking, lounge, sofa, benches, ottoman and barstool. Complete line of fabric, leather and vinyl must be available as standard product on the soft seating. The chairs must be ergonomically designed, capable of supporting a wide range of body types. A line spectrum of fabric and vinyl options must be available as standard product. 2. Table: Grade A furniture manufacturer that uses proven environmentally sound practices in the manufacturing and production of various types of table including café, conference, lounge, meeting and occasional. The tables must have a wide range of sizes, shapes and finish options in both wood and laminate. Where applicable, the tables must also have available options for electrical, voice and data integration capability. 3. Accessories: Grade A manufacture that uses proven environmentally sound practices in the manufacturing and production of various types of Flexible Workplace accessories including wall/desk mounted or mobile technology support (personal monitors and large screens) with appropriate cable management system and accent items (privacy screens, partitions, coat rack/stand, umbrella stand and textiles). The furniture manufacturer must have national distribution, adequate manufacturing capability with a proven history of meeting this type of furniture requirement with multiple orders in production at the same time. 1. The furniture shall have a life expectancy of ten (10) years or more. 2. Furniture Provider to provide performance testing documentation on the seating furniture materials and upholstery (e.g. CAL 117 or equivalent). 3. Furniture Provider must guarantee to the United Nations that it will continue to produce products and finishes selected by the United Nations for a minimum of twenty (20) years from execution of contract. 4. Maximum lead time of ten (10) weeks from receipt of order.
