Description

The responsibilities focus on the strategic advancement of OBIS's engagement as critical
infrastructure of the global ocean observing system.
The main duties and responsibilities for this role are as follows:
● Timely Completion of Project Activities: The primary objective is to ensure the
successful and timely execution of project activities. This entails collaborating with
project teams, advising on task coordination, attending and arranging meetings, and
guiding activities associated with project work.
● Technical development: Actively contribute to the development of metadata
standards and guidelines and data pipelines including documentation.
● Report Development: responsible for drafting comprehensive reports in conjunction
with project teams. These reports will document project progress, findings, and
outcomes, contributing to transparent and accountable project management.
● Integration and Quality Control: The role encompasses overseeing the integration
of new marine datasets into OBIS datasets. It is vital to maintain a high standard of
data quality through effective quality control measures.
● Responsiveness to User Community: The role is tasked with ensuring that
observations align with the evolving needs of the user community. This involves
proactive adaptation to changes in the scientific and biodiversity monitoring
domains.
