New clarification added: Clarification:Kindly clarify the followings:Forklift SpecificationsThe forklift specifications have not been provided. This is critical, as it directly affects aisle width design and accessories.Kindly share the technical datasheet of the forklift to be used, or confirm that the dimensions shown in the layout have been verified and approved by the forklift supplier.Tunnel RequirementPlease clarify whether the mentioned tunnel is intended for personnel use or forklift movement.Aisle Width & Equipment TypeThe proposed layout assumes the use of a reach truck; however, the rack aisle width of 200 cm corresponds to a VNA system.Kindly confirm which equipment type is intended. Please note that for VNA systems, the main aisle width should not be less than 4.5 m.VNA Guidance SystemThere are two types of VNA guidance systems:a. Mechanical Guidance – Requires guide rails (angles) and bottom beams; the first pallet level must be placed on beams.b. Magnetic Guidance – Does not require guide rails and allows more flexibility for the first pallet level, but requires floor preparation.Kindly confirm which system is required.Beam Load CapacityThe tender specifies a required beam load of 4.8 tons per level, while the pallet load is stated as 3.0 tons per level (pallet weight 1.5 tons). Please clarify this discrepancy.Kindly note that overdesigning beam capacity may adversely affect the frame load capacity, which could reach approximately 19 tons (if the first pallet is on the floor) or 24 tons (if on beam level).Pallet Support RequirementThe requirement for pallet supports suggests that pallet quality may not be consistent. This is generally not recommended for VNA systems. Kindly confirm this requirement.Non-Standard / Weak PalletsThe tender mentions that the system should support non-standard or weak pallets. This is not optimal for VNA racking systems. Kindly clarify your expectations.Container SupportsThe tender refers to “container supports.” Kindly clarify what is meant by this requirement.Field Load Test RequirementThe tender specifies that the field load test shall be carried out in accordance with RMI and FEM standards to verify the structural performance and load capacity of the installed pallet racking system prior to final acceptance. We would like to clarify that the referenced requirement applies primarily to beam deflection testing, rather than overall frame load capacity or full structural system performance.Kindly confirm whether the requirement is limited to beam deflection criteria or if additional structural testing is expected.UNOPS REPLY:1. Follow the dimensions shown on drawings2. Tunnel is intended for personnel movement3. Follow the dimensions shown on drawings4. Guidance system is not in bidder’s scope5. Specifications are for a racking bay that can withstand 3.6 tons per level (18 tons / 5 levels). Your supply should be able to perform accordingly with or without the bottom beam above floor. The bottom beam is not required in your scope.6. Pallet supports are required7. Pallet supports should be designed to support weak and non-standard pallets.8. Container supports (Specs 2.2.J) are not required in bidder’s scope.9. RMI (Sec. 9) describes testing methods of column stubs, upright frames and beam to column connection in addition to beams. In principle, the supplied items should be able to perform as per the approved design calculations of all structural elements.
