Description
The assignment consists of conducting a country-level analytical assessment of the financing needs of enterprises for a just transition in Nigeria, from a business perspective. The consultant will be expected to undertake desk research, stakeholder consultations, and primary data collection through an enterprise e-survey in Qualtrics, implemented in collaboration with the Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA). The work will assess how enterprises across sectors are affected by climate transition dynamics, the types of transition-related investments they need to undertake, and the barriers they face in accessing finance. It will also analyse the extent to which Nigeria’s financial ecosystem, policy framework, and employer organisations are equipped to support enterprise financing needs for a just transition. The consultant will be responsible for producing an evidence-based draft report, including analysis of survey findings, preparation of Excel datasets used to reproduce the report’s figures and charts, and a slide deck for the presentation of findings in a webinar. The assignment will be carried out in close coordination with the ILO and NECA and is expected to be completed within 65 working days).
