UNON, on behalf of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) and United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), hereby invites qualified firms to submit their Expression of Interest to participate in the upcoming competitive bidding exercise for Warehousing/storage, distribution and sale of UNEP and UN-Habitat publications. Below is a brief description of the requirements. Detailed specifications and requirements shall be communicated in due course in the tender documents. 1. BACKGROUND AND INTRODUCTION The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) are international organizations belonging to the United Nations System. UN-Habitat has four (4) regional offices that are situated in Africa (Nairobi), Asia and the Pacific (Fukuoka), Arab States (Cairo), Latin America and the Caribbean (Rio de Janeiro), nine (9) liaison and information offices (New York, Brussels, Geneva, Madrid, Chennai, Amman, Beijing, Moscow, Bangkok) as well as 60 other out-posted offices spread throughout the world. UNEP has six (6) regional offices that are situated in Africa (Nairobi), west Asia (Bahrain), Europe (Geneva), North America (Washington), Latin america and rthe Caribbean (Mexico), Asia and Pacific (Bangkok) and twenty-three (23) other out-posted offices spread throughout the world. The Advocacy, Outreach and Communications Branch (AOCB) is responsible for managing the publishing and publications activities of UN-Habitat while the Division of Communications and Public Information (DCPI) is responsible for managing the publishing and publications activities of UNEP. UN-Habitat publishes scientific books on the Urban Development, proceedings from meetings, campaign materials and other information materials such as brochures, posters and stickers whilst UNEP publishes scientific books on the Environment, proceedings from meetings, campaign materials and other information materials such as brochures, posters and stickers. These materials are printed and distributed globally. UNON intends to Contract a qualified firm for a period 3 years with an option to extend the contract for an additional two one-year periods, subject to satisfactory performance and related conditions. Interested vendors may forward their Expressions of Interest (EOI) along with the signed vendor forms to margaret.mathenge@unon.org, with a copy to anne.ingabo@unon.org. All EOI submissions should be sent via email, citing the EOI reference number and title in the subject line. UNON reserves the right to change or cancel the requirement of this EOI at any time during the EOI and/or solicitation process. Thus, submitting a reply to this REOI does not automatically guarantee your company will be considered for receipt of the solicitation when issued. Only Vendors which in UN's sole discrition are deemed eligible and qualified upon completion of an objective evaluation of their EOI submissions may receive the final tender solicitation documents.
