Description
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) invites eligible, legally registered non-profit organizations, governmental institutions, intergovernmental bodies, academic or research institutions, and other not-for-profit entities to submit proposals for the implementation of a regional initiative in West Africa under the AIM4Commodities programme.

The assignment aims to strengthen the availability, quality, harmonization, and use of commodity-related land use and land cover data to support deforestation-free and sustainable supply chains. The initiative will contribute to improving regional monitoring systems, addressing data gaps and governance challenges, and enhancing cross-country comparability of data relevant to commodity production.

Expected services include stakeholder mapping and engagement, assessment and harmonization of existing datasets, pilot field data collection in selected West African countries, capacity-building activities, and the development of a harmonized regional database. Deliverables will include analytical and technical reports, validated datasets, capacity-building outputs, and stakeholder validation activities.

Procurement method: Call for Proposals under FAO Letter of Agreement modality.

Estimated value/range: USD 150,000-200,000 (or equivalent).

Expected duration: approximately nine (9) months.

Deadline for submission: 13 February 2026, 17:00 hrs CET (GMT +1) - EXTENDED FROM THE ORIGINAL DEADLINE OF 6 FEBRUARY 2026
