Description
UNON is seeing a skilled and qualified General Building Contractor to provide construction works to build a single-storey organisational health facility within a 6-month period. This is a part of the implementation of the Replacement of Office Blocks A-J project at the UNON Complex, Gigiri, Nairobi Kenya. The project involves the construction of a new medical facility of approximately 700 square metres, comprising offices, consultation rooms, diagnostic and treatment rooms all arranged around a central courtyard. The scope also includes infrastructure , site and landscape works. The Vendor (prime/main contractor) shall have highly qualified resources in terms of managers, engineers and technicians as well as tools and equipment to provide UNON with a high-quality buildings and installations in compliance with best-practice quality standards meeting current local, international regulations and UNON requirements. Due to the specialist nature of the requirement, a consortium of contractors in a subcontracting arrangement (subcontractors to have a minimum 10 years of relevant experience), Joint Venture (JV) or single general contractors are encouraged to express interest. The subcontracting or JV partnership may be in the following areas: Civil and road works, mechanical and electrical installation works, interior fit-out and finishing works, and voice and data installation works. The scope of works can be summarised as follows: • Structural works including earth works, concrete works for sub& superstructure in addition to waterproofing • Architectural and civil works. • Finishes • Firefighting installations • Security systems and access control points installations – cable tray, trunking and conduiting only • Electrical installation works • Mechanical installations: comprising plumbing, drainage and air conditioning works, • Associated external works • Infrastructure works Additional details, specifications and scope of works shall be provided in the tender document to be issued subsequent to this EOI. Specific Requirements/Information Interested vendors must possess the necessary technical expertise and capacity to provide the required services, as only suitably qualified vendors will be invited to participate in the Request for Proposal that will be issued following the finalization of this REOI exercise. A vendor's suitability shall be assessed using the Preliminary Assessment checklist attached as Annex A to this REOI. Vendors must complete Annex A and return it via e-mail to james.boardman@un.org with a copy to unon-procurement-rfx@un.org, by the REOI closing date of 05 August 2025. Please refer to Annex A for detailed instructions and assessment procedure. Vendors expressing interest must be registered with UNGM, at minimum at the Basic Level. Vendors not registered in UNGM will not be eligible to participate in the Request for Proposal at a later stage. Details of the technical evaluation criteria and other particular requirements will be provided under the Request for Proposal at a later stage.
