Description
1. Background Information The United Nations Headquarters in New York City, under the implementation of the Capital Master Plan (CMP); announces that it intends to bid shortly the conservation/restoration of an stained glass mural designed by Marc Chagall in 1964. The stained glass mural was removed from its location at the New York UN Headquarters on June 8, 2013. All panels were carefully packed into four separate crates. Ten (10) damaged panes of glass, with different levels of disrepair, were packed separately into a crate. Highly experienced companies working with the restoration and preservation of stained glass are invited to submit their expression of interest 2. Scope of Work of required services Interested companies should provide the following services: • Advance visit to look at the ten damaged panes in order to prepare proposal. • Safe shipment of 10 damaged panels currently at the United Nations, to the restoration location. Due to the delicate state of the 10 damaged panels, there are serious concerns about the transportation of these panels.
