EXPRESSION OF INTEREST NUMBER EOI-N99-14-014 FOR PROVISION OF DISTRIBUTED LOGISTICS EXECUTION SUPPORT SYSTEM (LESS)
The United Nations World Food Programme (UNWFP) is the food-aid arm of the United Nations and the world’s largest Humanitarian Agency fighting hunger worldwide. WFP aims to reach more than 90 million people with food assistance in more than 70 countries.
In the mid-1990s WFP decided to invest in a centralized Enterprise Resource Planning ( ERP) system with a view to promoting process standardisation whilst also reducing its overall information technology (IT) related costs. The ERP system, implemented using SAP software, became known as WINGs. Between 2011 and 2012 the system has been customized to the needs of WFP. Now SAP Logistics Execution System (LES) is being implemented.
The UNWFP Headquarters in Rome wishes to establish a shortlist of potential suppliers with proven capacity to set up, maintain, manage solution with worldwide delivery capabilities to improve LES to allow business continuity in sites were connectivity with servers in HQ is unstable or not available 24/7.
UNWFP hereby seeks and invites to pre-qualify interested reputable suppliers, service providers, system integrators, consulting firms, or other technology companies with a strong experience in mobile solution and SAP integration, preferably with proven experience in building logistics solutions working in disconnected scenarios, to express their interest by contacting UNWFP through the following dedicated e-mail address: hq.tenders@wfp.org not later than April 30, 2014 16:00 hours (Rome time). Potential suppliers, who have expressed interests, will receive further instructions to complete the questionnaire which will be used to pre-qualify potential solution providers.
Eligible suppliers, who meet all of the pre-qualification criteria, may be invited to participate in a competitive tender exercise (RFP).
