Description

A mobile crushing plant was successfully procured by UNDP and operated in two sites in South Lebanon namely Shaqra and Kawnine in the caza of Bint Jbeil.  A total of 50,000 tons of demolition rubble were sorted, crushed and screened as per the requirements of the Municipalities and in line with the specifications mentioned herewith. UNDP and in an effort to ensure the sustainability of the project, resolved to hand over the mobile rubble treatment facilities to the private sector. The hand over is conditional that the private sector will deliver to the municipalities in the south, quantities of processed material according to specifications and with a treated value at least equal to the value of the facilities being handed over.

Since the city of Bint Jbeil was next on line to profit from the UNDP project, thus the rubble treatment facilities with all accessories and spare parts were relocated to the city of Bint Jbeil, where they were stored in a safe place on the premises of the municipality of Bint Jbeil and under their custody.

UNDP will thus transfer the ownership of the mobile rubble treatment facilities to the successful Offeror for continued sustainable operation to support the Municipality of Bint Jbeil and other Municipalities in South Lebanon. The successful Offeror will in turn sign an agreement with the Municipality of Bint Jbeil to undertake the requested works.
