Description
UNICEF has now issued a Request for Proposals in order to select a supplier for the provision of Production of multi-media SBC materials on child protection to facilitate community level dialogues and mass media interventions.
BRIEF BACKGROUND
Purpose : Review existing community dialogue charts and develop posters, brochures, animated video and audio communication materials, and a facilitation manual as part of implementation of the child protection SBC plan.
BACKGROUND
All children, regardless of race, location, gender, age etc have the right to be protected from all forms of violence, abuse, and exploitation, anywhere and at any time. It is recognized that certain groups of children have a higher risk of being exposed to violence and abuse. Functional child protection systems therefore should begin with social change to prevent violence and abuse. The reason being, some forms of violence are rooted in discriminatory and unequal societal gender dynamics, harmful traditional practices usually deeply anchored within societies. This makes the involvement of all stakeholders in society crucial to bringing about the expected change. The other reason is that it is more prudent and cost effective to prevent children from being abused than trying to respond when they have already been abused
OBJECTIVES / TARGET
The overall purpose of this task is to design and produce a variety of multi-media SBC materials including the review and updating of existing SBC materials on prevention of violence against children and promotion of child protection in line with the Child Protection SBC Plan. The SBC materials will be used by Government and UNICEF partners and various stakeholders in communities, schools, homes, and other places as appropriate to promote child protection; prevent violence against children and harmful practices such as child marriage and in the delivery of quality services for children.
