DATA HOSTING AND WIDE AREA NETWORKING SERVICES IN PUNTLAND

UNON, on behalf of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) in Somalia, hereby invites qualified firms to submit their Expression of Interest to participate in the upcoming competitive bidding exercise for the Proposed Data Hosting and Wide Area Networking Services in Puntland. Detailed specifications and requirements shall be communicated in due course in the tender documents. Below is a brief description of the requirements; UN-Habitat seeks companies that will support the government of Puntland with hosting and networking services and invites bidders to submit proposals that will address this need. The objectives of this request for proposal is to identify a vendor who will partner best with UN-JPLG, UN-Habitat, Central government of Puntland, Local governments and other stakeholders. The vendor will be required to; 1) Provide Data Centre services for hosting of the ERP solution servers; 2) Create a Wide Area network that will connect all municipalities to the central government; 3) Provide Data centre services for Remote server backups in different locations from the central data centre. The term of the proposed contract will be approximately 4 years beginning 2014. Bidderds should take into consideration that the services will be managed by the Ministry of Interior and the contract will be eventually handed over to the government at the end of this proposed contract. The services are required for an ERP solution that will soon be implemented. The services will be implemented in phases as agreed with the ERP solution provider.
