Description
The United Nations (UN) Department of Operational Support (DOS) is seeking to establish Global Systems Contract for the supply of Defence Barriers (earth/local material filled gabions with geotextiles), used by UN missions/ entities for perimeter security, access control, protection of sensitive installation, flood control and other related uses. The Global Systems contract allowing all UN entities to place Purchase Order directly with the contract awarded Vendor (s) as per prices, terms and conditions stated in the final contract for the supply of Defence Barriers will be awarded for an initial period of three (3) years with an option to extend for two additional 1-year periods (3+1+1) at the sole discretion of the UN and upon satisfactory performance of the contractor. The Defence Barriers shall be uniformly partitioned into internal cells formed by welded wire mesh system that is lined with geotextile fabrics to be used as a separate cell or interconnected with other units of same size horizontally and vertically. The Field Missions will fill the gabions with sand, earth, gravel, stones, any appropriate fill material at the UN project site to form permeable, monolithic mass gravity retaining structures. Defence barriers shall be easy to assemble; suitable for vehicle ramming, blast and ballistic threats and other impacts when filled with suitable materials; durable with minimum service life of minimum 5 years; and stackable. The vendors shall also provide the guard post that can be installed at site with overhead protection. It shall be a single module for a minimum of two security personnel, constructed from an assembly of gabion baskets with provision of firing and observation slots, providing protection against blast, ballistic and indirect fire. The bidders must be either the manufacturer or an authorized supplier of Defence Barriers and shall have minimum 5 years of expereince. The detailed Scope of Requirements (SOR) including the performance and technical specifications, quantities, expected delivery dates along with other bidding documents will be sent out to all bidders responding to this Expression of Interest (EOI). Companies that wish to participate in the upcoming tender are requested to submit their Expression of Interest (EOI) as per below instructions, and to duly register in the United Nations Global Marketplace (www.ungm.org). Vendors are advised that this EOI does not constitute a solicitation. The UN reserves the right to change or cancel this requirement at any time during the EOI and/or solicitation process.
