UNFPA invites companies to tender for the refurbishment of maternity waiting homes at the following district and mission hospitals:
Mutoko, Nkayi, Inyathi, Mbuma, Tsholotsho, Nyamandlovu, St Lukes, Lukosi, Kariyangwe, Binga, Chidamoyo, Guruve, Chitsungo, St Alberts, Karanda, Marymount, Kotwa, St Paul’s Musami, Nhowe, Sadza, Mt St Mary’s, Mt Mellary, Rugoyi, Rusape, Chipinge, Mt Selinda, Chikore, St Peter’s, Chimombe, Chinyika, Nyadire, Selous, Sanyati, Zhombe, Kana, Muvonde, St Theresa, Morgenster, Gutu Mission, Gutu Rural, Mashoko, Silveira, Mnene, Esigodini, Maphisa, Tshelanyemba, Brunnapeg, Lady Stanley, Lady Baring, Plumtree, Filabusi, Masase, Mtshabezi, Manama, St Michael’s, Mhondoro, Howard, Rosa, Zvimba
Invitation to Bid (ITB) date: Thursday, 12th September 2013
Mandatory Bid Clarification Meeting Monday 16th September 2013 at 2.00pm (Zimbabwe Time)
Date of Bid Closing: Thursday, 26th September 2013 at 11:00 am (Zimbabwe time)
To participate in this Open Tender, companies must request specifications of works for the Health Centers they wish to participate for and should provide supporting documents that they meet the following conditions:
(a) Prospective suppliers should be registered companies. Zimbabwean companies are required to provide proof of VAT registration and current tax clearance.
(b) Company profile.
(c) Certificate of Incorporation.
(d) Names and contact details of three traceable clients including physical address of their clients for same services or products.
(e) A site visit for shortlisted bidders will be carried out after opening of technical bids but before opening of financial bids.
(f) Satisfactory completion of at least 1 (one) civil ground works contract worth US$30,000 (US Dollars Thirty Thousand) within the last 2 (two) years in Zimbabwe (client’s name and value of the contract would be required)
(g) Shortlisted bidders will be requested to avail samples for services or products being tendered following opening of technical bids, failing of which will disqualify the bidder altogether.
(h) Past 3 (three) years audited accounts to demonstrate company’s financial soundness and its prospective long term profitability including the capacity to have a cash flow amount of US$50,000 (US Dollars Fifty Thousand only) or equivalent; average annual construction turnover not less than US$100,000 (US Dollars One hundred thousand) or equivalent during the last 3 (three) years.
(i) Upon contract award, ability to post a Performance Bond for 10% (ten percent) of the contract value
(j) Upon contract award, ability to post a Retention Bond for 10% (ten percent) of the contract value
(k) Valid company registration in the construction business for 3 (three) consecutive years in Zimbabwe
(l) Valid classification from the National Committee for Contractors, Category C or higher in buildings
(m) List of personnel available for civil construction works in Zimbabwe (number of personnel, their professional qualifications and job categories required)
(n) Ability to undertake civil construction works in Zimbabwe without sub-contracting and if sub-contracting is required, will not sub-contract more than 35% (thirty five percent) of the works
(o) List of equipment available in Zimbabwe for the civil construction works in Zimbabwe (indicating if these are owned or leased)
(p) Joint venture, consortium or association: If you consider that your entity does not have all the expertise required for the delivery of the goods/works/services, there is no objection to your entity sub-contracting or associating with other entities, particularly with a firm in the country where the goods are to be delivered or the services/works to be undertaken. However, any invited entity may not participate in more than one consolidated offer for this ITB. Similarly, a local entity may associate with only one invited firm/institution that has been invited to offer for this ITB. If you intend to sub-contract part of the Works under the Contract the overall amount of sub-contracted Works must not exceed 35% of the contract amount. Failure to meet this requirement shall lead to disqualification of your bid. All conditions listed above are applicable to Joint Ventures, Consortium or association.
