REOI for Wholesale Distributors of laboratory products

The World Health Organization procures laboratory equipment on a regular basis. The range of required products includes but is not limited to:

• Basic biochemistry laboratory equipment and  consumables, 
• Laboratory clinical equipment and reagents to perform  the standard range of methods and techniques commonly used in Clinical Laboratories:
  • Identification, characterization and handling of infectious agents including:
    • Clinical sample collection and transport
    • Microscopy
    • Culture
    • Immunologic testing
    • Antimicrobial susceptibility
    • Nucleic acid-based methods
• Basic laboratory Equipment:
  • Microbiological Safety Cabinets
  • Water bath
  • Centrifuge, etc

The purpose of this REOI is to expand the list of WHO’s potential wholesale distributors in a position to:

• supply laboratory products in  compliance to required specifications
• demonstrate a highly efficient  logistic  capacity   in emergency
• to stock products for outbreak preparedness
• purchase from sources required by WHO, in certain situations.

Following the evaluation of EOI, potential wholesale distributors of interest to WHO may be invited to participate to formal solicitations to bid.
