  1. PURPOSE OF THE APW

This work is for an individual or institutional contractual partner to improve the visual content of the data dashboard and create promotional videos and flyers to disseminate the dashboard.

2. BACKGROUND

3. The integrated communicable disease unit of the WHO Western Pacific Region (WPRO/ICD) has developed and released the integrated data dashboard to support the monitoring of the disease control and elimination efforts of the countries.

These dashboards also provide data analytic tools that help users identify unreached populations and programmatic areas that require improvement. To support the dissemination of the dashboards, the contractual partner will improve the visual content of the dashboards and create high-quality promotional videos and flyers.

4. PLANNED TIMELINES

The implementation timeline for the project is from 1 March to 15 April 2024

5. DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES TO BE CARRIED OUT

Under the supervision of the technical officers for the integrated communicable disease unit, the consultant shall:

a.    Conduct a review of the visual content/design of the dashboards

  • Evaluate user experience by interviewing some actual users
  • Perform consistency checks across different sections of the dashboard
  • Review colour scheme, typography and iconography for coherence
  • Provide a list of recommendations for design improvement

b. Improve the visual content/design of the dashboard

  • Incorporate modern and intuitive design elements for a fresh and engaging user interface
  • Optimize the use of icons and images for a cleaner and more streamlined appearance

c.     Develop high-quality promotional videos

  • Develop a compelling script and storyboard that effectively communicates the key features and benefits of the dashboard
  • Incorporate feedback from WHO technical officers multiple times
  • Develop necessary visual/video materials as needed including interviewing key persons
  • Produce a set of short videos using professional voiceover and incorporating WHO branding elements
    • A full video of 4-5 minutes long, capturing the technical background, dashboard contents, and future development plan (An example of the video from the SEAR region’s dashboard)
    • A concise version of the above full video (30 seconds long)
    • A video of 4-5 minutes long, explaining how to use each component of the dashboards and tools
    • A short video of 2-3 minutes long, summarising the Reaching the Unreached Framework which provides the rationale of the unit work including dashboard development

d.    Develop flyers to disseminate the dashboard

  • Develop at least three types of flyers for different target audiences (general public, public health officials, and WHO staff) in terms of contents
  • Develop different sizes of flyers to be used in different platforms (email, social media, ppt presentation etc).

Deliverables

  1. A report from the dashboard review
  2. New or updated visual content/design that can be incorporated into the dashboards
  3. A set of promotional videos
    • Full video on the dashboard
    • Concise version of the dashboard video
    • “How to use” video
    • “Reaching the unreached” video
  4. Various types/sizes of flyers

6. SPECIFIC REQUIREMENT OF MAIN TEAM MEMBERS

EDUCATION

  • Essential: University degree in design, digital media arts or related field
  • Desirable: University degree in health science

      SKILLS:

  • Technical writing
  • Layout and design
  • Proficient with the use of design/video software

      EXPERIENCE

  • Essential: Experience in designing dashboards/websites and creating video
  • Desirable: Experience creating content for public health 

     TECHNICAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Excellent in report writing and data analysis

     LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT

  • Essential: Fluency in English

    COMPETENCIES

  • Creative and strategically oriented
  • Able to adapt to relevant and reasonable project demands and submit deliverables within timelines

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Place of assignment:

  • The work will be conducted remotely. If the contractual partner is based in the Philippines, the team may visit the WHO regional office for periodic onsite meetings

Travel:

There are no expected travels associated with this work.
