Description
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (“FAO” or “Organization”) is an intergovernmental organization with more than 196 member nations. Since its inception, FAO has worked to alleviate poverty and hunger by promoting agricultural development, improved nutrition, and the pursuit of food security - defined as the access of all people at all times to the food they need for an active and healthy life. Further and more detailed information on FAO can be found on the internet site: http://www.fao.org. This invitation is for the provision of non-commercial services under the FAO rules that govern Letters of Agreement (hereinafter referred to as “Agreement” or “LoA”). Under these rules, only non-profit, intergovernmental, and governmental organizations are eligible to sign LoAs with FAO. To address these issues, FAO and IOM are implementing this JP – aimed at enhancing the resilience to climate change of migrant and vulnerable rural households in coastal areas of Odisha and dry areas of Telangana. To achieve this objective, the JP acts on three dimensions: 1) Strengthening the capacity of rural households to build resilient and sustainable livelihoods that enable them to prevent, mitigate or cope with climate stress and shocks; 2) Empowering rural people to make informed and safe migration decisions and improve migration outcomes for migrants and their families; and 3) Enhancing policy and programme coherence through strengthened capacity of key stakeholders, multisectoral coordination and policy dialogue in the areas of migration, agriculture and climate change. Services required: 1. Undertaking a rapid gender-sensitive migration and climate Vulnerability and Risk Assessment (VRA), followed by 2. Presenting the findings of the VRA at a validation and inception workshop in Bhubaneswar, Odisha and generating its report; and 3. Conducting a Baseline Study in selected sites in two districts of Odisha, namely Ganjam and Kendrapada.
