The UNAIDS WCA Regional Office is recruiting a senior international consultant to support the development and implementation of a gender-transformative strategy and interventions on gender and HIV in select countries. This will include, followed by the recommendations of the Global Fund's GC7 funding application, extending technical gender expertise on gender and HIV to select countries on their gender work plans for 2024-2025; supporting the review, prioritization, costing and negotiation of recommendations from recently completed gender assessments; preparation and support to new assessments; review of the Global Fund's GC7 funding applications and grant making from a gender and rights lens; and technical expertise for strengthening gender capacity. The senior consultant will also support the regional dimensions of key action research global or multi-regional studies planned for 2024-2025, including but not limited to women’s leadership in the HIV response, the gender dimensions of stigma index studies, advancing the 10-10-10 targets and scoping of approaches and investments in transformative social norms change.

To develop and deliver a gender strategy and plan at regional level that will support countries in the region to strengthen the gender transformative aspects of plans, designs, investments, monitoring and learning on HIV and gender progressing the gender equality targets under Result Area 6 of the Global AIDS Strategy and linked societal enablers on gender and rights.
