Description
The United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC), with offices in Brindisi (Italy) and Valencia (Spain), solicits the services of a qualified company to carry out ISO14001:2015 Surveillance and recertification audits of its operation at both of its locations, as follows:
a) UNGSC, Piazza del Vento, 1, 72100 Brindisi BR, Italy (GPS Coordinates 40.651795, 17.946953). The UNGSC (Brindisi) is located within the Italian Air Force (ITAF) base with shared facilities
b) UNICTF, Avenida Comarques del País Valencia 2, Quart De Poblet, 46930, Valencia, Spain (GPS Coordinates 39.478052, -0.485861). The UNICTF (Valencia) has private facilities within the Valencia Airport.
The two Facilities (UNGSC and UNICTF) require a gap analysis to implement an Occupational Health & Safety Management System (OHSMS) as laid out in ISO 45001:2018.
The UNGSC has been ISO 14001 certified since 2016 and ISO 9001 since 2007 by a third-party company through regular annual assessments. The is presently seeking to obtain ISO 45001:2018 Certification of ISO 45001:2018 as part of the effort to achieve a high standard level of Occupational Health and Safety in the workplace.
The UNGSC (Brindisi) occupies a total surface area of 368,209 m2. There are 58 buildings for the exclusive use of the United Nations, comprising 19 warehouses, 13 workshops and service buildings, one clinic, and 25 office and training buildings of various sizes. The total number of civilian personnel working on site is 612.
The UNICTF (Valencia) occupies a total surface area of 43,500 m2. Six buildings for the exclusive use of the United Nations, comprising three operational and office buildings, one cargo handling facility, one pedestrian access control facility, one vehicle access control facility, and one dining facility. The total number of civilian personnel working on site is 374.
The Environmental Management System (EMS) implemented at the UNGSC encompasses the organizational structure, planning activities, responsibilities, practices, procedures, processes, and resources for developing, implementing, achieving, reviewing, and maintaining its environmental policy.
The UNGSC integrates Occupational Health & Safety Management System into its daily operations, ensuring that it becomes a natural part of operations' culture and enhancing management and staff cooperation to achieve long-term results. Therefore, an OHSMS system review is required to fill gaps considering the UNGSC development and potential ISO 45001 Certification.
For the ISO14001, the service must encompass surveillance audits for 2023 and 2024 and a recertification audit for 2025, covering three (3) years. These audits shall be held annually for each location and have a minimum duration of one day and a half or two days and a half. The audits are usually carried out during May or June; therefore, as a matter of consistency, the UNGSC would like to maintain the same period for the surveillance and recertification audits.
For ISO 45001, a gap analysis must be conducted by the Contractor to support the implementation of the UNGSC's OSH management system, review its effectiveness, and identify measures and processes necessary to adopt and apply OSH ISO standards within UNGSC.
***IMPORTANT NOTE: The tender documents will be sent via e-tendering platform ONLY to the email address(-es) registered in the companies' UNGM account.
