Procurement of Certified Clover Seeds

The Government of the Republic of Turkey has obtained a loan from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), for the Financing of the Upland Rural Development Programme (URDP). Implemented in two regions, in a total of six provinces covering 45 districts and targeting 30,000 households: Eastern Mediterranean (Adana, Mersin, Osmaniye) and Western Black Sea (Bartın, Kastamonu, Sinop). In the second phase, the programme will assess the feasibility to include two additional provinces:  Kahramanmaraş (Eastern Mediterranean) and Çankırı (Western Black Sea) reaching an additional 30,000 households in case these provinces will be added to the programme. During the implementation, program will focus its activities on uplands and transitional areas in the programme provinces where farm and pastureland is mostly above 600m and where most of the forest villages and neighbouring forest villages are located. However, some villages located below 600m (i.e., between 400 and 600 m) may also be selected on the basis of topographic factors: i.e., located in steep, sloping areas and presenting characteristics similar to upland villages, being particularly disadvantaged due to their location, make them eligible and worthy for the programme support.
