United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) hereby invites not-for-profit international and national education partners in Afghanistan to submit proposals to support the provision of Basic General Literacy (BGL) courses to youth and adults in 20 provinces in Afghanistan (at least 70% female). Proposals should be made for a minimum 2 provinces..
Specific objectives:
- Recruitment and management (including payment of salaries) of master trainers, community mobilizers, literacy facilitators and counsellors
- Capacity building of master trainers, community mobilizers, literacy facilitators and counsellors
- Coordination and monitoring of the distribution of teaching and learning materials, hygiene kits (procured by UNESCO) and cash-based incentives
- Monitoring of BGL courses, data collection, and provision of monthly reports
- Improvement of knowledge and awareness of Village literacy Committees and key community-decision makers/influencers on the importance of access to education for all, especially women and adolescent girls
