1.0 Overview 1.1 The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) has a requirement for the refurbishment and rehabilitation of all ablution and kitchen facilities for its HQs located along the Gurgi Road, former ECA premises (African Centre), Tripoli, Libya, as listed below. Requirement 2. The contractor shall clean, repair/replace, refurbish and rehabilitate all ablution/restroom and pantry/kitchen/kitchenette facilities in accordance with European or similar standards in Office Building A, Office Building B and in six (6) Residential Buildings, in total 176 sqm of repair/refurbishment works and 108 sqm of rehabilitation works. Scope of Work and Specifications 3. The contractor shall perform a site inspection with the UN project officer, identify all critical works and provide a detailed method statement. 4. The contractor shall provide all materials, tools and equipment. Note that the UN project officer has to approve all materials (prior commencement). 5. The contractor shall thoroughly clean all existing ablution and pantry facilities, and remove all mould, (old/non functional/contaminated/disapproved) materials, accessories, installations, fixtures, fittings and debris and dispose accordingly off site. 6. The contractor shall repair, replace, refurbish or rehabilitate and install new ablution and pantry facilities including water supply, plumbing, tiles and all installations. 7. The contractor shall clean, repair and/or replace all joints and make all ablutions and pantries waterproof. All silicone shall be appropriate colour and for wet areas (mould proof). 8. The contractor shall replace all materials (e.g. toilets, urinals and wash/shower basins), accessories, fixtures and fittings, if not in perfect/new condition as approved by the UN officer in charge. 9. The contractor shall provide and (re-)install high quality toilets, urinals, wash/shower basins, cubicles including lights and doors, mirrors, accessories, fixtures and fittings into all ablutions. 10. The contractor shall provide water supply and sufficient electrical outlets where necessary and install fully functional good quality double-sinks into all pantries/kitchenettes. 11. Note that all installations shall include proper water traps preventing any smell/odours within the ablution or pantry facilities. 12. Note that all toilets shall be with water flusher/reservoir and proper water pipe on the right side. 13. Note that each ablution shall include one large sized mirror (min. 1sqm) above each wash basin, at least one hand dryer, one fully functional ventilator and proper electrical switches and sufficient lights/lamps inside each cubicle. 14. Note that each cubicle shall have a water discharge/drainage point (preferably in center), a lockable door indicating occupation, and one appropriate toilet roll holder. 15. The contractor shall comply with EN DIN 18024 and EN DIN 18025 (measurements and sizes, heights of installations and areas necessary for movement). 16. The contractor shall ensure that all installations are fully operational, and shall clean and disinfect all ablutions and pantries prior hand-over to the assigned UN project officer. 17. Repair/Replace/Rehabilitation/Installation services within 30 days of contract award are preferred. 18. A UN staff member will be nominated as the Point of Contact (POC) for the contractor and will coordinate with the contractor the service. In this regard, the contractor shall contact UN POC not less than 48 hours prior to the anticipated service date to arrange access to the ECA premises.
