UNFPA is proposing the development of an analytical tool to improve overall situational awareness of gang dynamics in Haiti. The platform will (1) map the geospatial and temporal dynamics of gangs in Port-au-Prince, initially. It will also (2) track the networks linking gangs and gang leaders to each other, as well as to key political and economic actors. The digital platform will be available to UN partners as a way of enhancing situational awareness. It will be used to inform planning with implementing partners involved in community violence reduction (CVR) activities on the ground, as well as to help improve overall safety and security and more effective targeting. The goal is to develop off-the-shelf tools to rapidly customize an accessible, interactive and high resolution experience for users.
